Tanzania Birding Safari

Day 1: Arrival

You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport by our staff and transferred to Arusha National Park to your lodge for resting, Safari briefing, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full day Game drive / Birding in Arusha National Park

Get up early and go for game viewing in the open plains of Arusha National Park. There you will see numerous animals like Zebras, Giraffes, and Buffalos among others. Also, drive to explore Ngurdota crater rim and Momella lakes. Return to the lodge for lunch, check out and transfer to the airport for a connecting flight or dropped at your hotel in Arusha.

Day 3: Transfer to Tarangire National Park

You will be picked from the lodge after breakfast by your safari driver at around 08.00 Am then transferred to Tarangire National Park some 2 hours away from Arusha. On arrival your safari guide will guide you through the registration formalities before you embark on your first game drive at Tarangire National Park a famous haven for the large elephant herds and many other animals and different bird species, Tarangire is recorded to have more than 500 different species of birds on this game driver our driver guide will take you to best locations where you can enjoy birdlife in the park. Later after excitements you will drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Full Day Birding in Tarangire National Park

You have another full day bird game drive in Tarangire trying to capture what you missed on the last days game drive, we will drive to different location may be on the river circuit also drive to silale swamps possible to capture different species of birds. Later after game drive you wil drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park

On this day you will have breakfast and later drive to Lake Manyara National Park, you will use the southern gate to start your game drive from the south part of the park and the lake where you could enjoy birds as you drive to the north part of the park, after you day excitments at the park you will drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Full Day Game drive Lake Manyara National Park

On this day you will have a full day game drive in Lake Manyara trying to capture what you missed on yesterday's game drive, you will use the northern gate and your game drive will base much on the north part of the park and the Lake, Lake Manyara has been recorded to have more than 400 different species of birds, You will enjoy game drive and later drive to Lake Eyasi for dinner and Overnight.

Day 7: Lake Eyasi Culture Tours

After breakfast you will join the Hadzabe and interact with them and meet the bushman guide and enjoy the bush walking safari and hunting activity with the hadzabe bushmen, the hadzabe are the indigenous ethnic group in the north central Tanzania living around lake Eyasi in the central rift valley, the hadzabe are the only remaining hunters and fruit gathers of East Africa and after this excursion you will also have a chance to visit the Datoga tribe/ Black smith tribe, these the only remaining iron smelting tribe in Tanzania interacting with is good experience, you will get learn and know more about their ways of life, later in the evening you have a chance to visit the lake Eyasi and capture some bird life, The salty waters of Eyasi are inviting for a variety of birds. Flamingos, Storks, and Pelicans are some of the most popular species found here. Besides them, you can also spot spoonbills, avocets, superfowls, Fischer's lovebirds, barbets etcetera. Later you drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Drive to Ngorongoro Crater

On this day you will get a cup of coffee and snacks and take your packqed breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater earlier morning on your arrival you will enjoy game drive inside the crater trying to capture amazing birdlife there. Both the Ngorongoro highlands and the crater offer excellent birding, with over 500 species recorded. Birdlife in the highland forest is rich and interesting. Among the birds to be seen are white-eyed slaty flycatcher and Livingstone turaco. A number of specialized grassland birds are resident in the crater. Most noticeable are ostrich, kori bustard, crowned crane and the secretary bird. Migratory birds are present from November to April. After your exciment you will drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Transit to Serengeti Via Masai Village

You will have breakfast and proceed driving to serengeti national park via masai village you will interact with tribe members for an hour and some minutes proceed to Serengeti National Park, On your arrival you will check in and start with evening game drive as you drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Full Day Serengeti Birding Game Drive

Your game drive starts earlier morning with packed breakfast you will drive to different locations in the park searching for birds. The Serengeti has more than 500 bird species recorded, and the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem is one of Africa's Endemic Bird Areas (land important for habitat-based bird conservation containing restricted-range bird species), hosting five bird species found nowhere else. These specials are easy to locate within their restricted range. The grey-breasted spurfowl is common in the Seronera area. In woodland areas, parties of Fischer's lovebird draw attention to themselves and the rufous-tailed weaver is a fascinating bird placed in its own genus. The other two endemics are the Usambiro barbet and the grey-crested helmet-shrike. Migratory birds are present from November to April. Later after your day excitments drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Transfer to Speke Bay Lodge

After your breakfast you will drive to Ndabaka gate and head to speak bay logde for two nighs to enjoy birdlife in Lake Victoria.

Day 12: Bird Life Excursion in Lake Victoria

After your breakfast you will have a day excursion at the lake capturing bird moments. Lake Victoria is home to over 400 species of birds to thrill and excite both keen ornithologists and nature lovers. Vistors can view a wide variety of birds on any one day including Malabou storks, Kites, Kingfishers, Bee-Eaters, Weavers and Swallows.

Day 13: Speke Bay and Back to Arusha

After your earlier breakfast you will start driving back to Arusha via Serengeti Np and Ngorongoro Conservation Area, on your arrival our driver will drop you off your place of residance or if its airport you will be dropped off there.
