The Rongai Route is the only trail that approaches Kilimanjaro from the north, near the Kenyan border. This less-traveled path offers a true wilderness experience with spectacular views and abundant wildlife sightings. The route features a gradual ascent profile, making it excellent for acclimatization with a high success rate. Unlike the busier southern routes, Rongai provides a more remote and serene climbing experience through pristine forests and alpine meadows before joining the Marangu Route for the final ascent to the summit.
