2-Day Mkomazi National Park Safari Adventure

Embark on an exciting 2-day safari to Mkomazi National Park, a hidden gem in northern Tanzania near the Kenyan border. This journey takes you from Arusha to one of Tanzania's most unique conservation areas, known for its diverse wildlife and successful endangered species breeding programs.

Experience thrilling game drives, visit the renowned Rhino Sanctuary, and enjoy the stunning landscapes of this less-crowded park. This safari offers excellent opportunities to observe a variety of wildlife including elephants, giraffes, zebras, and with luck, the endangered black rhino in their protected sanctuary.

Day 1: Arrival and Afternoon Game Drive

Depart Arusha in the morning, enjoying the scenic drive to Mkomazi National Park. The journey offers beautiful views of the Tanzanian countryside and Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. Upon arrival at Mkomazi, check into Babus Tented Camp, your comfortable accommodation nestled within the park's wilderness. After settling in and enjoying lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive through the park's diverse habitats. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and various bird species as you explore this beautiful conservation area. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight, listening to the sounds of the African bush.

Day 2: Rhino Sanctuary and Return to Arusha

Start your day with an early morning game drive when wildlife is most active. This drive may include a special visit to the Rhino Sanctuary, where you'll have the opportunity to witness the feeding hour of these magnificent endangered creatures. Mkomazi's sanctuary is part of a vital conservation effort to protect and breed black rhinos. After the morning activities, return to the camp for lunch. In the afternoon, depart Mkomazi for the return journey to Arusha. The drive back takes approximately 5 hours, allowing you to reflect on your wildlife experiences while enjoying the changing landscapes. Arrive in Arusha in the evening, where your safari adventure concludes.
